WASHINGTON, D.C. (Oct. 7, 2018) – The Chicago Fire (8-17-7, 31 points) fell 2-1 to D.C. United (11-11-8, 41 points) at Audi Field on Sunday afternoon. Midfielder Raheem Edwards scored his first goal for the Fire in Sunday’s match, providing the game’s opening goal.
D.C. United appeared to find the back of the net in the 21st minute, but the goal was disallowed by the referee after a video review determined that a foul occurred during the run of play leading up to the strike.
The Fire opened the scoring in the 51st minute when midfielder Aleksandar Katai won the ball near midfield and raced toward the D.
