Chicago Fire Fall 2-0 to New York City FC

BRONX, N.Y. (Sept. 26, 2018) The Chicago Fire (7-16-7, 28 points) fell 2-0 to New York City FC (15-8-8, 53 points) at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday night.

After a scoreless first half, the hosts took the lead in the 47th minute courtesy of a left-footed strike from distance by midfielder Alex Ring (VIDEO). A right-footed finish by Spanish star David Villa in the 51st minute helped NYCFC clinch a spot in the Audi 2018 MLS Cup Playoffs (VIDEO).
