Chicago Fire defeat Toronto FC 2-0 to cap giant news day

The match slipped off the radar a bit with the announcements of Ignacio Aliseda’s signing and the WGN-TV deal, but the Chicago Fire ended the big news day with a 2-0 preseason win over Toronto FC.

Nick Slonina grabbed his first goal with the first team, and Elliot Collier continued his blazing hot preseason with yet another goal in the match this afternoon at the University of California-Irvine.

Slonina’s goal opened the scoring in the 15th minute when he buried a rebound after a corner kick. Collier made it 2-0 Fire when Djordje Mihailovic played him through in the 31st minute.
