CHICAGO (August 3, 2016) – The Chicago Fire on Wednesday acquired General and Targeted Allocation Money, the Philadelphia Union’s natural first round selection in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft, the Discovery Priority on a player* and the second spot in the MLS Allocation Ranking Order from the Union in exchange for the top spot in the MLS Allocation Ranking Order.
With the first spot, the Union signed midfielder Alejandro Bedoya as the Fire move back up to the No. 1 spot in the Allocation Ranking Order.
“We’ve often spoken of building a team that will be competitive over time,” said Fire general manager Nelson Rodríguez.
