Chicago Fire Academy Under-16 team wins four games at international tournament in Poland

The Chicago Fire Academy Under-16 squad continued its global football education with a trip to the Bell Sport Cup International Tournament in Poland last week, competing against teams from seven different countries.

The side returned to Europe after winning the event in 2018 and this year lined up against under-16 opponents from Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Lithuania, Belgium, Finland and Holland.

Progressing all the way to the shield final, the Fire U-16s fell 3-2 on penalty kicks to Slask Wroclaw (Poland) to finish the tournament with a record of 4-3-1. The team scored eight goals and conceded five, while goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina tallied an impressive three clean sheets.
