Back in July, we spent some time spotlighting unheralded White Sox outfield prospect Joel Booker, who despite being a 22nd-round pick and a senior signing, hit .312/.374/.400 over his first 2 1/2 months in Low-A Kannapolis and earned himself a South Atlantic League All-Star bid and a midseason promotion to High-A Winston-Salem.
A hot first half in the low minors is not enough to merit a ton of attention, but a hot first half accompanied by multiple scouts pegging Booker as a favorite under-the-radar guy in the loaded White Sox system is intriguing, especially when it comes from plus-plus speed, solid center field defense and an aggressive but mature approach at the plate from the 23-year-old.
