As a seven-year-old, Brad Malone remembers sitting in the Civic Arena dressing room stall of goaltender Patrick Lalime during the 1996-97 season when Lalime went 14-0-2 and set an NHL record for longest unbeaten streak to begin a career.
Brad Malone, a native of Miramichi, New Brunswick, also had a direct experience in the ongoing comeback of his cousin, former Penguins left winger Ryan Malone.
