The Blue Jackets lost a game on Saturday — 4-1 to St. Louis — and they lost their leading scorer the past two years to injury.
Cam Atkinson had a rough night. In the second period, he took a deflected puck to the helmet covering his forehead, a shot that appeared to rattle him momentarily. But that wasn't the injury that forced him out of the game.
Atkinson suffered a lower-body injury at some point earlier in the game, and it was aggravated with an awkward hit early in the third period. He left the ice at 6:41 of the third and did not return.
