Almost Famous: Albert Almora Jr. and the Cubs almost beat Kershaw

LOS ANGELES — Well, that was (almost) easy.

After sitting through a grueling, freezing, mind-numbing Game 5 marathon that ended Friday morning, the Cubs (almost) breezed through a 2-0 win against Clayton Kershaw and the Dodgers on a gorgeous cool evening in Chavez Ravine.

Albert Almora Jr. was (almost) the unlikely hero, taking out Kershaw for a two-run homer and Quintana (almost) shut down the Dodgers offense, which was missing All-Star Corey Seager, who (almost) made the NLCS roster with an injured back.

For four innings, all of this wasn't just almost true. It happened, but in the end it didn't matter.
