In the first major coaching change of the Joe Maddon era, Chris Bosio will not return as the pitching coach for the Cubs next season, according to USA TODAY's Bob Nightengale and other reports. The news came two days after the Cubs were bounced out of the National League Championship Series in an 11-1 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Maddon's former pitching coach with the Tampa Bay Rays, Jim Hickey, is a frontrunner to take over in that role.

Maddon was asked about his coaching staff prior to Wednesday’s Game 4 against the Los Angeles Dodgers and whether he’d like all of them to return.
