2019 Generation adidas Cup play began on Sunday morning in Frisco, Texas with a pair of matches for the Chicago Fire Academy Under-17 team.

The Fire began the day with a 2-1 victory over MLS counterparts the Houston Dynamo. Brian Gutierrez got the Men In Red on the board in the fourth minute on an assist from Missael Rodriguez, before Jason Belloli got the match-winner minutes later on a set piece delivered by Takumi Ikeda.
