As the Maple Leafs dressing room DJ, Nazem Kadri understood he had a job to do. After the news of Gordon Downie’s death hit the country Wednesday morning, Kadri decided he had to play The Tragically Hip before Wednesday night’s 6-3 win over the Detroit Red Wings. The 27-year old laid out the hits, including 50 Mission Cap, New Orleans is Sinking and Wheat Kings.
And while it was a time of mourning for many, Kadri noticed how even some of the younger Leafs, who may not have been impacted by the band during their heyday in the 1990's and 2000's, enjoyed his song selection.
