The Rundown: Can the Cubs Have Blackhawks-Type Success? Alcantara Heating Up, Schwarber Hits 2 Bombs, Edwards Shaky in Iowa Debut

Congrats to the Chicago Blackhawks on advancing to the Stanley Cup Finals for the third time since 2010. (That’s good.)

It has been a great seven-year run for the Hawks, exactly what we’re hoping to eventually see from this Cubs group.

I actually see a lot of similarities to the current Cubs team and the 2007-2008 Blackhawks. They were a team with young players, in 19-year-olds Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane, that you could tell were going to be special.

That team barely missed out on making the playoffs, but have made it every year since — including two (and could three) championships.
