Red Sox acquisition of LHP Drew Pomeranz sets trade market into motion.
The Red Sox shipped top pitching prospect Anderson Espinoza to San Diego Thursday in exchange for Padres starter Drew Pomeranz. With 16 days left until the non-waiver trade deadline, this should lead other teams to act preemptively while there is still talent to be acquired. With over 10 teams contending for a wild card spot, there will be plenty of buyers searching for pieces to fill various holes.
