The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

Joe Maddon has been a genius lately, but he made two bad decisions last night:

  • Pinch hitting for Jason Hammel. For one thing, Hammel was still dealing, and he had a 3 -0 lead, with a low pitch count. For another thing, they inserted Miguel Monterrible who promptly did what he does…whiffed. I think Hammel is the better hitter, too.
  • Move #1 led to move #2, which was to allow Pedro Strop to pitch, and all he did was give up three hits and make a bad error…allowing 2 runs, and making the game a LOT closer than it needed to be.
