Rumors continue to swirl around the game on where the remaining big name free agents will sign. And the Cubs continue to be linked to multiple relievers and free agent right-hander Tyson Ross.
MLB Pipeline posted an up-to-date order for June’s Draft. The 2017 Draft takes place June 12-14 and the Cubs currently have two picks in the first 30.
As of now, the Cubs have the 28th overall pick in the draft, up two slots due to qualifying offer free agents signing with new teams. The Cubs could move up even further if Edwin Encarnacion, Jose Bautista and Mark Trumbo sign with new teams with unprotected first round picks.
