It was almost inevitable, once the slumping got unbearable, that Addison Russell would become the pretty-much-permanent Chicago Cubs starting shortstop. This meant that Starlin Castro, he of the three All-Star appearances and lofty expectations, would need another home:
Fast forward to Tuesday night, when Castro came into the game defensively for Chris Coghlan at second base in his first in-game action since last Thursday, and we immediately see him make an impact in his new role. His teammates and his manager certainly appreciated it.
