The Al Fresco Confines: Cubs would like to serve you more drinks

Cubs chairman Tom Ricketts should be enjoying his first-place team, working on the “Clark Cave” in his planned $11 million lakefront mansion and making sure he has a cache of Cubs-logo Brooks Brothers dress shirts for the postseason.

But instead he’s still scrabbling for support for a proposed outdoor patio outside of Wrigley Field that will serve beer, wine and maybe liquor, but is definitely not a beer garden.

“This is not a beer garden,” Ricketts told reporters after a speech at the Lakeview Chamber of Commerce at Wrigley Field on Wednesday, according to Fran Spielman of the Chicago Sun-Times.
