As I do here every spring, I present to you a full numerical roster of all the players, coaches and instructors in Cubs spring camp. Also included are the Cubs’ retired numbers, so you can see the full numerical progression.
A few notes:
- Jake Arrieta returns to the Cubs and his familiar No. 49, which was not re-issued by the Cubs during his three-year stay with the Phillies. You might recall that the last player to wear that number before Jake was Carlos Marmol (2006-13).
- Robert Stock, if he makes the Cubs’ active roster during the regular season and keeps the number, will become the first-ever Cub to wear No.
