CINCINNATI – At this stage of the season year, wholesale changes are inadvisable.
Those take time, which is quickly running out. So, finding a way to compete day to day takes precedent. In the Cubs’ 7-4 loss to the Reds on Friday, however, it was clear that left-hander Shota Imanaga wasn’t quite the best version of himself.
Imanaga surrendered three home runs – all solo shots – en route to allowing four runs (three earned runs) in five innings.
“Right now, it feels like every day [my delivery] is a little different,” Imanaga said through Japanese interpreter Edwin Stanberry.
