Several teams have extended netting at their ballparks. The Cubs should join them.

I’m sure you all recall this horrifying moment in Houston on May 29:

Fortunately, the little girl hit by a line drive foul ball by Albert Almora Jr. was okay, though it was revealed later that she had a skull fracture. You can see in the video how shaken Almora was by what happened.

That incident spurred more calls for netting to be extended past the ends of dugouts, where it had been extended by all 30 teams within the last couple of years. Since then, 11 teams have either announced they will be extending netting, have begun the process, or have the netting installed.
