Chicago Cubs Hall of Fame second baseman Ryne Sandberg took to Instagram on Wednesday to share an update on where things stand with his fight against cancer. Sandberg was diagnosed with prostate cancer in January of 2024, and revealed that he was cancer-free in August of that same year. However, in an update last December, Sandberg shared that the cancer had returned.
In his update on Wednesday, Sandberg admitted the last few months have been challenging, but he has remained tuned into the success that the Cubs are having this season.
To all my Fans and extended baseball Family –
I wanted to share an update regarding my health.
