Report: Wrigley rooftops to be open for business for Cubs home games this season

The Cubs and Mayor Lori Lightfoot have yet to agree on a plan that would pave the way for Wrigley Field to welcome fans to games in 2020.

But the Wrigley rooftops? Likely a different story.

According to a WGN report, the City of Chicago approved the opening of the rooftops at 25% capacity for the season. This, less than a week after Cubs president of business operations Crane Kenney said he expected rooftops to be open for business from Game 1 on.

Kenny also said he expected the Cubs to be able to bring in roughly 8,000 fans — or 20% capacity — at the ballpark for games, but Lightfoot cooled that talk, calling it premature.
