Report: Cubs bringing Kyle Schwarber back up to majors on Friday

Kyle Schwarber had an impressive major-league debut for the Cubs in late June during a stretch of interleague games.

Now, the North Siders want to see more of their future slugger.

According to MLB.com's Jonathan Mayo, the Cubs are calling up Schwarber on Friday to catch while Miguel Montero recovers from a left thumb injury. Montero hurt his thumb in the team's series against the White Sox. According to reports, Montero could be heading to the DL to make room for Schwarber.

Schwarber, 22, went 8-for-22 in his six games with the Cubs. He also drove in six runs over that stretch and hit his first major-league home run against the Indians.
