Padres 6, Cubs 3: After Justin Steele was brilliant, the bullpen melted down again

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before. Or, maybe don’t stop me, because this has to be addressed, and soon. The Cubs got yet another excellent start from a rotation that’s looking like one of the better such groups in the entire league. And then Cubs relievers couldn’t... well, there wasn’t a lead to hold, but five straight hits took care of a scoreless tie and a disastrous six-run Padres sixth resulted in a 6-3 Cubs defeat.
