Admit it, now that Shohei Ohtani has announced his (epic) signing with the Los Angeles Dodgers, the enthusiasm of the hot stove season has diminished a little bit. I don’t know if any of you ever snuck into your parents’ closet as a child and found your Christmas gifts earlier, but it dulls the shine of the morning a whole bunch. It kind of feels like that now that we don’t have to wake up every day wondering “will Ohtani decide today?”
There are still months to go before pitchers and catchers report, and plenty of free agent signings, but I have to be honest, now that Ohtani has signed I’m having trouble getting super enthused.
