Happy Monday, friends. Hope you enjoyed a lovely first weekend in May. Saturday was May the Fourth, aka Star Wars Day, and that pop culture holiday brought us a pretty funny exchange in the links today.
It’s also time for teams and execs to reflect on the first month of play, and some (like the Marlins) are already looking to next season, as they traded Luis Arraez to the Padres and responded to that trade. The Arraez trade was certainly the biggest news of the weekend, but it resulted in some early discussion about the trade deadline, and which teams may end up cutting their losses in 2024 and looking ahead to next season.
