Outside The Confines: A new chapter in the Ippei Mizuhara betting scandal

Ippei Mizuhara, the former interpreter for Shohei Ohtani has been charged with bank fraud after stealing $16 million from Ohtani. In a newly publicized criminal complaint, texts were released between Mizuhara and his bookie, as well as details regarding how much he won (and lost) in his sports betting.

While Mizuhara will apparently enter a guilty plea, he may face up to 30 years in prison for his misdeeds. Some tweets below show details from the complaint.

The complaint states that between Dec. 2021 and this January, Mizuhara allegedly placed "approximately 19,000 wagers."

Losing bets: $182.
