The Yankees had a 4½-game lead in the AL East after sweeping the Royals in a three-game series that ended June 12.
Since then they’re 10-16, although they just swept the Mariners in a three-game series and Thursday, came back from being no-hit into the eighth to walking the game off in the 10th. In that same span, the Cubs are 13-11, which isn’t great but... it’s better than 10-16.
