Though it’s been pending for months now, MLB finally made it official. During a Friday morning press conference at Wrigley Field, commissioner Rob Manfred announced that the Cubs will host the 2027 All-Star Game. The news is bittersweet, coming as it does so soon after the passing of Ryne Sandberg. The iconic second baseman won the Home Run Derby in 1990, the last time the Midsummer Classic was held at Wrigley.
