Mike Napoli and David Ross sure look like coaches-in-waiting in the photo above, don’t they?
Now they’ll be on the same coaching staff:
Mike Napoli is expected to join the Cubs as David Ross’ quality assurance coach. Napoli played with Ross on the Red Sox team that won the 2013 World Series.

Ross was expected to grant one or more of the still-vacant coaching positions to someone he’d feel comfortable with, and this is surely one of those hires. Napoli and Ross were teammates on the Red Sox in 2013 (when they won the World Series) and 2014.
