Mets 7, Cubs 6: Just not quite enough

Sigh.

This was such a winnable game, but the Cubs just couldn’t close the deal, instead losing to the Mets 7-6 in 11 innings. That made the series a 2-2 split, and the Cubs come home with a losing road trip, three wins and four losses, and the feeling that things could easily have gond the other way.

This one began like the last couple of games — with little offense from either side. The Cubs scored first, in the top of the second. Michael Busch doubled with one out and Patrick Wisdom walked. A fielder’s choice moved both runners up, where Busch scored on a ground out by Pete Crow-Armstrong [VIDEO].
