Matthew Boyd, who will start Sunday night's game for the Cubs against the Cardinals when rain stops at Wrigley Field, has been named to the National League All-Star team's pitching staff.
Boyd will join his teammates Pete Crow-Armstrong and Kyle Tucker at the Midsummer Classic Tuesday, July 15 at Truist Park in Atlanta.
In 17 starts this year, Boyd has a 2.65 ERA and 1.084 WHIP. He has a W-L record of 8-3 and has been the team's most consistent starter all year. His season has produced 1.7 bWAR to date.
