MILWAUKEE – The fan who fell from the PNC Park stands during a game between the Cubs and Pirates on Wednesday, was “awake, alert and able to speak” as of Saturday morning, according to an update on a GoFundMe organized to help with the family’s medical expenses and financial hardship.
Kavan Markwood, the 20-year-old who was rushed to Allegheny General Hospital after the fall, had been in critical condition Thursday morning, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.
“After everything he’s been through since the accident on Wednesday night, this progress feels nothing short of miraculous,” wrote Jennifer Phillips, the organizer of GoFundMe, who identified herself as the mother of Markwood’s girlfriend.
