Kyle Tucker makes early exit from Cubs’ tilt with Reds after jamming finger

Cubs right fielder Kyle Tucker left Sunday’s game against the Reds after four innings, removed from the contest after jamming his right ring finger.

Though the team did not specify in its in-game update when Tucker suffered the injury, there was speculation it occurred on an awkward-looking slide on a failed stolen-base attempt in the first inning. Tucker went to first base after a pitch hit him in the foot and was thrown out shortly thereafter, caught stealing for the first time this season.

Tucker remained in the game and took two more at-bats, doubling into the ivy and scoring on a Pete Crow-Armstrong single in the third inning and popping out in the fourth inning.
