There was some speculation a while back and some media folks jumped the gun a bit, but it appears the decision is official now:
Soft tossing pitchers don’t last very long in this era of velocity, but Kyle Hendricks found a way to make it work for most of his tenure with the Cubs, and even had a serviceable year in Anaheim of Los Angeles, although that did take him out of Immaculate Grid legend territory. Still, a legendary Cub will likely find a job with his long-time club should he choose to continue working in baseball in some capacity.
