But this one is back in our faces, folks, or at least under our noses, as a Hall Veterans Committee subgroup — the Contemporary Era Committee, focusing on players whose greatest contributions came in the late 1980s and beyond — convenes Sunday at the league’s winter meetings in San Diego to vote on eight candidates.
