CHICAGO -- The streak finally came to a close on Tuesday night, but not because of Jake Arrieta. The Chicago Cubs lost a game he started for the first time in 24 outings, but only after their bullpen allowed five runs in the final two innings of a 5-0 win by the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Reliever Clayton Richard gave up three hits to the Dodgers to open the eighth inning for the game's first run. The visitors added another in the eighth and broke it open in the ninth when Corey Seager took Trevor Cahill deep.
