At 11 p.m. on Tuesday, backup Cubs catcher David Ross finished putting up a Jorge Soler bobblehead in his locker and got ready to leave a mostly empty clubhosue.
“Good night media,” he said. “Write something positive.”
Ross paused for a beat as the room stayed silent.
“Too soon?” he said with a smile.
When can Chicago laugh again? For the first time since Oct. 18, the Cubs lost a Jake Arrieta start, as the Dodgers evened this series with a 5-0 win at Wrigley Field. All of their runs came in the last two innings after Arrieta left the game.
