MESA, Ariz. – The Cubs received promising news from third baseman Nick Madrigal’s MRI results, but pitching prospect Caleb Kilian’s imaging suggested a much longer recovery timeline.

Madrigal sustained a mild hamstring strain, manager Craig Counsell revealed Thursday.

“We're going to progress him over the next week, and I think then we'll have a good idea of where we're at,” Counsell said.
