If Joe Maddon and the Cubs part ways, Ken Rosenthal doesn't believe he would be available 'very long'

Theo Epstein has, of late, been mum on his conversations with Joe Maddon about Maddon’s future with the Cubs, but rumors are swirling that the manager’s days on the North Side are dwindling nonetheless.

Just yesterday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reported that the Angels might have interest in Maddon if he doesn’t return to Chicago -- even if that means moving on from Brad Ausmus just one year into his three-year contract with the team. In that same report, Rosenthal also mentioned the Phillies, Mets and Pirates as teams with uncertain managerial situations entering the offseason, while the Padres, Giants and Royals are already certain to be in the market for a new manager before the 2020 season.
