That Chicago Cubs outfielder Jorge Soler homered on a low fastball from Brewers pitcher Jimmy Nelson shouldn’t be that big of a surprise. Just take a look at Soler’s heat map since returning from the hamstring injury that sidelined him for nearly two months.
Soler is hitting .379 (11-for-29) with four home runs since he’s been back. Seven of the 11 hits, including a pair of home runs, have come on low fastballs (those in the lower-third of the strike zone or below).
This has been an area of all-around improvement for Soler.
