In the first five games of the season, Cubs manager Craig Counsell’s plan for third base, as Christopher Morel continues to gain experience at the position, has become more clear.

Morel and Nick Madrigal have been trading starts at the position, based on a variety of matchup factors. Morel, who hit his team-leading second home run of the season Tuesday, is the bigger offensive threat.
