Game 6 player report cards: Cubs 9, Indians 3

Player report cards from the Cubs’ 9-3 win over the Indians in Game 6 of the World Series.

Jake Arrieta: 5 2/3 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 9 K

Grade: B

By the time Jake Arrieta took the mound for the Cubs, he had already been spotted a 3-0 lead. At that point, it was on the 2015 National League Cy Young winner to bring the game home. It wasn’t vintage Arrieta, but he was good enough. Arrieta found his way to nine strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings, despite Joe West’s ever-changing strike zone behind the plate, and he did his best to keep Cleveland’s hitters off-balance and guessing.
