Cubs activate RHP Brandon Morrow from 10-day DL … RHP Cory Mazzoni optioned to Triple-A Iowa
As expected, the Cubs activated RHP Brandon Morrow from the 10-day disabled list prior to Wednesday’s game at Dodger Stadium. To make room on the active roster, RHP Cory Mazzoni was sent back to Iowa.
Brandon Morrow, 33, landed on the disabled list June 20 (retro to June 17) with lower back tightness. In his first season with the Cubs, he has no record, 16 saves and a 1.59 ERA (four earned runs in 22 2/3 innings) in 26 relief appearances.
