Former Cubs ace Mark Prior won a World Series ring with the Dodgers this year.
It’s likely not how he drew it up two decades ago as a baby-faced 20-year-old, but Mark Prior finally has his World Series ring. It didn’t come as the ace of the Chicago Cubs pitching staff as he once envisioned, but rather as the pitching coach for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
“I’ve been fortunate to go to the playoffs the last three years with L.A. [as a coach], but 17 years later to have a chance — even in the NLCS, to get back to the World Series and then have a chance to win — yeah, it doesn’t happen all the time.
