Right now there is ever more discussion about the idea of expanding the MLB into new markets. While the idea of adding two new franchises is exciting (or a new and an old one if Montreal gets things their way), it would mean a huge shakeup for all the other franchises.
Last week this notion of expansion brought up an interesting question via Twitter, and I want to give credit where it’s due to Stephen Josiah for inspiring this prompt.
Let's imagine MLB expands to 32 teams. They inform the current 30 teams that they can protect just 10 players from their 25-man roster AND minor leagues.
