It wasn't enough that the Chicago Cubs got swept by the middling San Francisco Giants, or that fans in Chicago saw their hated rivals in Green Bay acquire one of the NFL's top players. Former North Sider Kyle Schwarber had to twist the dagger just a bit more in historic fashion Thursday night.
Schwarber hit four homers in the Philadelphia Phillies' lopsided win over the Atlanta Braves at Citizens Bank Park. He became the third player to accomplish this feat in 2025 and the 21st in MLB history. This performance gives him a new career-high in homers (49) and puts him on the brink of reaching 50.
