Edgar Olmos Claimed On Waivers By Orioles; Cubs' 40-Man Roster At 38

And now we know who's gone to make room for Trevor Cahill and Brendan Ryan.

Although it has been known for several days that Trevor Cahill had re-signed with the Cubs for 2016, the team had not formally announced his signing, so at the end of Thursday's Rule 5 draft, the 40-man roster stood at 39. That space was for Cahill, so another spot had to be opened for Brendan Ryan, expected to be announced as the PTBNL in the Starlin Castro/Adam Warren trade.

The Orioles announced that they have claimed lefty Edgar Olmos off waivers from the Cubs.
