Outfielder Dexter Fowler came through with a huge day for the Chicago Cubs as the veteran switch-hitter recorded a double, single and solo home run in his last at-bat of the game to help lead his team to the 7-3 victory over the San Francisco Giants at Wrigley Field.
The Cubs (60-48) are now 1.5 game ahead of the Giants (59-60) in the N.L. Wild Card race and are a season-high 12 games above .500. An incredible mark that needs to increase over the weekend with the Pittsburgh Pirates hosting the Los Angeles Dodgers in a huge weekend showdown between the two.
